HELLO! Ok, it has seriously been a while. This blog began as a way for me to access and share recipes that I’ve tried, and somewhere along the line, it started to feel like a chore. This New Year’s, I realized I was ready to come back, SO! I decided to make my New Year’s Resolution…. to post at least once a month… It is definitely January 31st, 2017, but I’m here! …
Mini Fruit Tarts
It has definitely been a hot minute since my last blog post, but life has been super busy! I’ve been promising this blog post to a bunch a people for a while, so apologies if you’re one of those people!
I feel like almost every party I attend now a days is a potluck. I don’t know about you, but I usually wait until the last minute to figure out what I’m bringing so I can see what everyone else is bringing and try to fill in the gaps. You know you’ve been to those potlucks where it’s hot dogs, hamburgers, and a table full of store bought dessert (^_^).

BLT Pasta Salad
So, it’s getting to the end of Summer, and you’re probably getting Potlucked out. AND you’re probably tired of bringing the same thing/eating the same thing at some of them. I usually bring dessert, but lately, everyone’s last minute go to is to buy dessert on the way. SO lately, my go to has been a BLT Pasta Salad. I mean I love the normal Italian dressing-y pasta salad, but.. bacon makes everything better, right?! …
French Macarons with Green Tea White Chocolate Ganache
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO MAKEITMADDY!!! I can’t believe it’s been a year since my first post!! I wasn’t sure what I should blog about to commemorate my first blogging year, but decided on these yummy French Macarons. Hope you’ve all enjoyed this blogging journey with me so far!!
I’ve always wanted to make French Macarons, but have heard how temperamental the process can be. Lucky for all of you, I’m one of those annoying positive people that thinks that if you put your mind to it, you can do anything. …
Nutella Swirled Banana Bread
I’m about to take a trip to Italy, and I thought it would be fun to make something with one of my favorite Italian Ingredients: Nutella. For those of you that haven’t been exposed to Nutella, you should do yourself a favor and get cultured on it. Maybe try my Nutella Rice Pudding!!! UNLESS of course if you have allergies to any of the ingredients. For those of you that can’t eat it… I’ll eat enough for the both of us (^_^). …
Pitango – Hot Chocolate Affogato
Hot Chocolate is my drink of choice when it comes to coffee shops, dessert, airplanes, etc. It’s soothing, warm, smells oh so good, and takes me back to my childhood.
It’s snowing outside today, and hot chocolate always sounds amazing on these days. It gave me the inspiration to create a new page for Make It Maddy, a journal of sorts for the different hot chocolate brands, preparations, and restaurant styles called Hot Chocolate Chronicles (HCC). This first post for HCC is one of my favorites, Hot Chocolate Affogato from Pitango. …
Pasta alla Carbonara
The first time I had Pasta alla Carbonara was for brunch in Chicago at a restaurant named The Publican. I can still remember how amazing it was: the sauce, the bucatini, the pork belly, the parmesan… My mouth is watering just remembering. If you’ve never tried Carbonara and are an Alfredo person, trust me when I say that you will be converted. …

Chicken Tortilla Soup
One of my favorite meals my boyfriend’s mom cooks is Chicken Tortilla Soup. It’s one of his favorites, and after I had it, you know I had to ask for the recipe. His mom’s original recipe takes two days to make, but when it’s cold outside, I become one of those “Veruca Salt – I want it now” people so I modified the recipe (^_^). This soup is full of flavor, has a spicy kick to it, and has wonderful texture with the crunchy tortillas and the shredded chicken. …
